Welcome late spring!
A few days ago, this part of the world had snowflakes in April! It was very strange to see snow falling from the sky during this time of the year and notice, at the same time, the vibrant green tone colors of the tree leaves and the blend of colorful flowers in the Spring Season. The inhabitants, of the City of Brotherly Love, seemed very confused for this mix of seasons in a day. This type of weather is not strange for me because when I visited Machu Picchu in Peru, the weather was so unpredictable that changed, instantly, from a shine and warm day to a rainy and a cool day in just a few minutes. For me, this nature’s moment awoke my curiosity and creativity. I told myself -this scenario doesn’t happen often, here in Philly, and I admired the beauty of two seasons in one day: Snow winter in spring! The following day, I took my camera and I started a photo shoot of the animate and inanimate elements that conform the Universe nature’s palette.
I drove for an hour towards Lambertville. The scene was surrounding with trees and ducks that were stationed on the sides of the road. You can even see a few of them walking, calmly, toward the woods. When I arrived to my destination and parked my car, I walked a few miles and took the bridge path that divides Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and I crossed to the Garden State and started my path road to my “walking meditation.” I thought to myself -all nature is awake, now, inviting the people to immerse oneself into the awareness connection with the Universe. My heart was feeling joy and happiness! After a few minutes, I walked into one of those paths, with my camera in hand, and I was immersed in the beauty of nature. My eyes saw the colorful flowers and the soft tulips that were just opened earlier in the morning displaying, as an art gallery, the strokes of mother’s nature and her imaginative creation of the world. At this point, I was disconnected with the ins-and-outs of everyday life and I felt the positive energy of the Universe.
During my walk, I spotted a white elegant swan! I took a few minutes to observe the dancing motion of this creature. The river was a calm scenario to display all her transformation. I admired the white swan that was swimming on the river. The water was the silent music that moved along with her as an invisible partner. This swan was so beautiful! The orange beak contrasted with the snow white color of her body; also her orange legs added a touch of fashion with the scheme color combination. I observed her for a few minutes taking pictures in my mind for future recollection of serenity memories. Suddenly, I took my camera because this white swan kept dancing without any restriction showing me all her splendor and beauty. In the silent dancing, she put her head into the water and brought a few raindrops into her body -the funny part is that the swan kept dancing when I stooped to take photos. I think she wanted to show me all the tricks that she could do, when someone is admiring and paying attention to her! After I finished my private photo shoot with the white swan, something caught my attention: A beautiful tree with an elephant trunk silhouette in its branch! That was amazing!
This peculiar tree branch displayed not only a bunch of gorgeous pink flowers hanging down from the silhouette tree but also resemble, vividly, the shape of an elephant trunk . In my mind, I immediately, saw the pink trunk of an elephant. This is really an elephant- I thought to myself! I positioned for the photo shoot and I visualized, myself, being under the face and body of this big elephant and started my photo shooting before he/she moved even an inch of space. I have to say that this creative experiment probed to work -at least for me, because I really love this photo! The texture of the brown tree branch with the soft pink color of the flowers contrast with the blue sky as a background. The silhouette was close to the reality that nature provided me with the pink elephant trunk. For me, an elephant symbolize leadership, humility and longevity. It wasn’t difficult to think for a caption that can describe this photo composition, and I entitled this particular photo: “Nature’s Pink Elephant Trunk: The Symbol of Strength, Power, Stability and Wisdom.”
For this month my photo album entitled: Welcome late spring! Would like to reflect on the inner beauty and symbolism of nature as the two examples mentioned above. During my “walking meditation” I felt the power and the strength of the water, the connection with the animal's spirit and the unique force of the trees. Being aware of your surroundings and feel that connection with nature is a great gift. It only requires you one thing: Being awake of your inner self! I feel, totally, renewed when: I touch a flower and I sense the softness of the petals; when I listen to the birds singing and giving me a free soprano concert during my walk; when a smell the dirt after a heavy rain; when I sense the wind touching my face, and when nature complies with me providing me with all the positive energy of the Universe. This is the greatest gift! I hope my photo album, for this month, touches your heart and opens the inner beauty of your soul.
