My visit to Newport, Rhode Island
After arriving to Providence, our first stop, we visited our friends Dina and Domingos. We haven’t seen each other for almost a year and the time really flies by -we said to each other. Muñeca and Benji came to us running very fast and moving their tails as a happy sign of welcoming. Also, the three colorful petite birds started to sing and to move around inside the cage with a lot of excitement. Yes, we got greeted by all the members of the household!
The following day, on Saturday, my husband and I decided to visit Newport taking advantage of the free time -for Dina and Domingos that day was a regular working schedule day. After finding a parking space, we walked to the Tourist Center for informational brochures for a day of fun and adventure. After a few minutes, we decided to go to the Cliff Walk path that is behind the mansions located in the famous Bellevue Avenue. After driving for a few minutes and parking the car, for a second time, we walked for about two hours looking at the endless ocean and the enormous green gardens from the mansions. During this period, we saw a lot of people walking around, some jogging and others preparing their clothes and equipment to go inside the water and surf; they seemed to have a lot of fun in the water for a cold day. My camera didn’t stop making a lot of clicks...and I took a lot of pictures! On our way back to Newport town, we explored the surroundings visiting antique and gift shops; eating the clam chowder soup and walking and walking all around the tourist area.
For this month, I have entitled my photo gallery: “My visit to Newport, Rhode Island,” in which I tried to capture some of the special moments that we had in this beautiful area. Every time I think of Rhode Island, Newport comes to my mind. I don’t know why? Perhaps, the imaginary sound of the ocean waves touches my inner-self awaking the best of myself. Enjoy the photo gallery!
